Summer and Your Period

By: The Honey Pot Company

Memorial Day weekend, the unofficial start of Summer is just around the corner. That means sunshine, cookouts, road trips and lots of outdoor activities. Everything feels freer and easier during this time of year, except the time of the month when your period comes to visit. Buzzkill, maybe- but just because you have your period during summer doesn’t mean you have to miss out on all the fun, including a dip in the pool, lake or ocean. Just follow these simple female hygiene tips to stay fresh, clean, and comfortable! If you’re on your period but want to hit the water, just be sure to use a feminine menstrual cup or a tampon, like our all-natural tampons available in both regular and super absorbency sizes. Swimming on your period is completely sanitary with a tampon but remember to change it regularly and remove your wet bathing suit as soon as possible. Sitting in a wet swimsuit can trap yeast-infection causing bacteria and really throw off your vaginal pH. When things heat up, it’s also important to up your water intake to keep your honeypot happy, hydrated and balanced.

Post swim, sweat or any other Summer activity use our refreshing panty spray  to freshen up and cool down on the go. Our easy to use natural feminine wipes are also perfect to swipe anywhere and reduce bacteria and odor, so that you can spend less time worrying about having your period during summer and more time enjoying those precious moments - they do fly by! I hope these menstrual hygiene tips help keep you feeling clean and comfortable this summer!
