Compton G.IRLS Club was founded in 2017 as an after-school club based in Compton High School’s Library. We started with 12 girls and volunteers from within our own community. We have created a safe space for girls and gender nonconforming youth to learn something new without judgment. Our mission is to provide girls and gender nonconforming from underserved communities access to resources, knowledge and skills that are not readily accessible to them in their own neighborhoods.
We believe access to these skills will aid them in their journeys to becoming confident, assertive, and independent.
